Today we're looking at one of, if not the best dual Gathering route in Dragonflight.
I spent many hours on the Dragonflight beta with Herbalism and Mining trying to find some awesome Farms and this one is great for a variety of reasons.
Now, this Farm is going to look a bit weird if you've not played the new Dragon Flight yet, but there is some logic behind how it does work.
The main thing we are trying to achieve with this Farm is to hit Tyrhold as hard as we can and grab every Herbalism and Mining Node around this area.
Tyrhold has the highest concentration of rare Herbalism and Mining nodes in Dragonfly and, just as importantly, they are all Titan variants to give Rousing Order when looted.
Rousing Order is probably going to be the rarest Elemental reagent in Dragonfly. They are really limited ways to get these and it is also used in a huge number of recipes, so it's definitely going to be massively in demand. Anything that's hard to get and has a limited supply entering the market and there's a demand for it, is going to have a nice price tag associated with it.
And we have a fantastic way of farming it. I have had occasions flying through Tyrhold where I've got five to six Titan nodes in a row - this is absolutely crazy, you can't get anything like this anywhere else in the Dragon Isles.
The only issue is Tyrhold has a limited number of nodes, and so you can clear this area out in a couple of minutes if you wanted to do some semi-AFK lucrative farming. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to just AFK here between node spawns and just run around and collect them every 10 minutes or so, but I'm assuming you're here because you want to do some continuous farming, so that's what we're going to look at.
Where you're going to start is the Vault of the Incarnates flight path on the far East side of the zone. Already in this area we can start to get some nice Mining nodes.
We are heading West to Tyrhold. Once we are here, we are not just flying around the edge - you want to make sure you've seen every part of this area on your minimap, don't miss any nodes around here at all as this is the high value part.
From now onwards, all we are trying to do is buy time for the respawns in Tyrhold, but we want to keep farming. The problem we have is that there is a huge cliff on the West side of Tyrhold, so we have nowhere else to go without flying down here, but it will take us a huge amount of Dragon Stamina to get back up.
Dragon Stamina is the most important thing when Mining and Herbing in Dragonfly, and you quickly notice that this is the biggest limiting factor for the amount of nodes that you can collect. This is why I've been able to gather whilst mounting this great Dragonfly, but it's nowhere near as powerful as any other expansion previously, because the time that you had this mounted, which would usually have been wasted previously, is just time that you're recovering Stamina, which you'll have to do at some point anyway.
Now, when you are flying across an area that is generally heading slowly downhill, you will use a lot less Stamina because you're basically just gliding your way down.
That is our plan from Tyrhold. We are generally headed one of three different ways, and this is going to look messy on the map. Out of all three routes, I did not really have a preference after testing, so you can try them all out and see what you think, maybe even let me know in the comments below which one you found best.
This part of the route, you're just going to treat like a normal Herbing and Mining route - just pick up everything you want on the way down towards the Flight Path.
Now, usually when you're Herbing and Mining in your Dragonfly, you have to be quite selective and careful about how you are using your Stamina, or you just end up being grounded and not doing anything for a little while.
On this dual Gathering route, you can be much more reckless with your Stamina, and it's much easier than, for example, trying to farm Saxophrage in Awakened Shores.
Once we get to the Flight Path at the end of whatever route we decide to take, we're going to use it to fly back to the Vault of the Incarnates entrance. Now, this seems madness to spend all this time doing nothing, but what is actually happening here is it's taking you all the way back up the mountain towards Tyrhold, and saving you a massive amount of Stamina.
Just as importantly, all the time you are spending flying between the Flight Paths, you are recharging your Stamina, so that when you land, you'll have recovered a large chunk of it. Depending which route you take, you can also look out for the Titan nodes as you get flown over to Tyrhold, as well, so you know where to head when you land.
On top of all that, you do get yourself a little bit of a break for a couple of minutes, every now and again, while you're just waiting for this to fly between the two Flight Paths.
Summary then of the farm: We are hitting Tyrhold hard, as probably the highest value Mining and Herbing location in Dragonfly. Then we are buying time for all those respawns. We're going to go on one of three routes - you can be fairly reckless with your Stamina and therefore pick up a lot of nodes because you are wasting a lot less, because you are generally heading in the downhill direction, and you know you have a recovery period coming up. We take the Flight Path, recover our Stamina and start all over again.
It did take quite a while to figure out the best way to do this, but I'm quite happy with the results in the end, even if it does feel a bit weird farming using Flight Paths, but I hope it does make sense now I've explained it all.
I hope this video helps. Thanks for watching guys and see you next time!
