Hey folks this is Kelani, as more and more people are hitting max level I’ve seen a lot of questions pop up about what is there to do or what do you need to do to keep your character up to date so you don't fall behind well dragonflight is a little different, we don't have the borrowed Power Systems from the last few expansions that directed you to various systems and features and told you this is something you have to do otherwise everyone else is going to be stronger than you you'll get left behind we simply don't have anything like that in dragon flight but that doesn't mean there isn’t anything to do it just means that our max level activities aren't as much of a question of what you need to do but more about what you want to do so we’re going to go through everything you can do at max level to keep yourself busy or occupied or progress your character in a wide variety of ways depending on what you like to do in the game including some things I think absolutely everyone should do as well as a lot of things that will be completely up to you, maybe you’ll find something new or exciting to pursue that you didn't know about.
Before now before we jump in be sure to hit him that like button and subscribe so you never miss another video, the first thing that you're going to want to do at midlevel is to finish the story campaign I know most of you probably did this while leveling but if you were doing a lot of other activities while leveling up like side quests, rare hunting, treasure hunting or whatever else you may have hit max level before finishing the questline for the main story campaign so you should keep working through those quests until you return to alexstrasza and see this fancy new splash screen telling you that you're done with their campaign and you have unlocked some new types of content, if you don't finish the campaign you won't be able to do World quests or unlock other quests that direct you to other areas of the game you can take part in at max level so be sure to finish that off first.
Now with that out of the way there is one thing I would recommend absolutely everyone do no matter what kind of content they want to take part in Dragon riding glyphs, Dragon riding is one of the main features that you will interact with constantly in dragonflight whether you’re running over to dungeon entrances, Gathering, mining or herbing nodes, tracking down those pesky Treasures or farming the daily rare loot Farm you know you're going to be using Dragonriding no matter what you're going to be flying from place to place and dragon riding glyphs allow you to work through the talent tree that we have for Dragonriding and just unlock so many powerful bonuses to make dragon riding so much better to use, there are 48 glyphs in total 12 in each Zone and you can go outhunting for them all solo style without any help or you can use add-ons or a video guide to help you along the way I’ll give you a link to our video guide in the comments below but I would actually recommend you download the handy notes and handy notes dragonflight add-ons they will put the glyph locations right on your map for you so it’s easy peasy to fly around and collect them all within an hour or two, having max level Dragon riding is going to make everything you do in this expansion much easier a lot faster and honestly just more enjoyable so I would put this at the top of the list for absolutely everyone.
I'll be perfectly honest with you, there is a lot to do past this point but there isn’t really anything you necessarily have to do if you played at the start of shadowlands you're probably expecting the new torghast legendary grind a new type of covenants with sanctums and conduits and all that nonsense to keep up with but we don't actually have any of that in dragonflight, there is a lot to do don't get me wrong but there isn’t a lot you have to do if that makes sense so from here on out it's completely up to you and how you want to spend your time in WoW, for example you can start working on your Gear season 1 starts upon December 13th that's when the new raid opens up the new Mythic plus season and PVP season start and when the gear treadmill really kicks off again so for right now the best thing you can do is just get ready for that to start by gearing up as best you can to ensure you have a smoother start as possible in season one you can run dungeons normal heroic and Mythic dungeons to get progressively better gear Mythic dungeons are going to drop item level 372 so that's the highest you can get from dungeons right now and that is a great Target to aim for in general for the rest of your gear to get ready for everything in season one but almost anything at endgame can actually provide you with some gear upgrades.
Some of the best upgrades right now come from World quests rare monsters and special events those rewards scale with your item is also the better gear you have the better gear you're gonna get from those sources there are also reputation options if you super Farm or grind reputation and Renown you can buy the various pieces of gear from those factions item level 376 for the earlier ones and then item level 389 for the later ones.
Professions are also huge for gear upgrades this time you can craft gear at equivalent item levels to almost any gear Source even up to Mythic raids when that finally opens up so that's maybe worth looking into so it’s kind of up to you, you can gear up in a wide variety of ways but the staple dungeon Farm is still going strong and we have so much more to look forward to when season 1 starts if you want to dig into gearing up a bit more you can find a link in the comments over to our gearing guide specifically.
Now if you are tired of the good old gear treadmill and just want to Tinker about with some other end game activities while I don’t think you can totally avoid getting Gear with it dropping from absolutely everywhere you can do some things which are not entirely gear Centric to start with there are four main reputation factions that you can earn favor with in Dragon flight reputations are tied to Renown levels for every 2 500 reputation you earn you'll go up one renowned level with that faction every Renown you get will net you some new goodies on, the renowned track so it's a constant flow of rewards and unlocks each of these factions has a base camp out in the world the dragon scale Expedition can be found in the waking Shores the marokaican be found in the anaron plains thei skara tuscar can be found in the Azure span and then the Val Dragon Accord has their base in you guessed it valdrakken, each Hub will have lots of Quests for you to pick up and work through they all reward reputation and they lead you into new quests and story threads so pick a faction and go to town.
In addition to the major factions there are also small rep factions you can work with sibelian and wrathion over at the obsidian Citadel can reward you with some very nice rewards so the gear tends to be a bit random so it's not the most efficient source of gear and then the Cobalt assembly in the Azure span is a big old mob farm reputation kill stufflootic get rep rinse and repeat they have a whole bunch of cosmetic rewards on offer as well as some very powerful Rings, quite a few of these reps actually have events tied to them as well in the waking Shores you can take part in The Siege on Dragon Bane keep work through that and you'll get reputation and other Awards including some chances at gear upgrades you can get an epic chest once per week from what I recall in the planes you can take part in the grand hunts which again reward you with a whole bunch of stuff including reputation and gear you should be able to get rewards from and three times per week from what I understand but they get smaller each time you repeat it and then there’s the community Feast at Iskar which is pretty much the same deal a box of goodies once per week which can include some shiny gear.
Then another part of the end game grind comes in the form of rare hunting rares can drop some pretty good gear in general they can drop unique rewards like pets or toys and they will also almost always give you a nice chunk of reputation to work towards your next renowned Point, some rares can even drop gear as high as item level 385 Which is higher than almost anything else available before season one starts and they might even continue to scale with item level in season one so they're definitely worth killing if you come across them.
Then another great weekly activity you'll want to work towards at max level is the quest aiding the Accord, this is the big weekly quest in dragonflight or at least the most important one we have so far you'll geta box of goodies which contains all sorts of useful materials like Primal chaos as well as a good chance at gear upgrades the quest also rewards a whole bunch of rep with every major faction so it’s going to be a great weekly to get done no matter what so as you can see quite a few of these systems overlap quite a bit already so if you go for rap farming you're probably going to get some gear and if you go for gear farming you’ll probably get some rep as you earn more reputation and unlock more Renown points you will actually also unlock new gameplay options and opportunities, rock climbing, treasure hunting digging in the dirt storylines quest lines there's alot going on including some really cool cinematics I would encourage you to look through each of the four major factions renowned tracks and see if anything looks interesting if you want to unlock something start working on that wrap.
Then you can also dive into the newly revamped profession system there's a lot going on with this one professional skills profession knowledge specializations profession gear quality and a whole bunch of recipes for you to learn and hunt for you can really dive into this and spend almost as long as you want trying to perfect your crafts and figure out which specializations lead in to which types of new recipes and what they're all used for there's a lot of depth here which is a really nice change of pace professions have largely been ignored for the most part through older expansions but dragonflight gives professions a very good foundation to expand upon and they should stay relevant for the entire expansion, you can craft better gear for yourself or to sell on the auction house you can craft useful items like gems consumables Soul cages for Elemental Soul trapping that’s a thing profession gear folio friendly crafter friends it's been great fun for me so far and there's a lot still to go through.
There are also special Treasures hidden out in the world that will provide you with extra profession knowledge if you can find them, there’s rare Dragon shards you can find and collect to turn in for more progress and you can even seek out special profession Masters who will teach you a few tricks of the trade all in all there is a lot going on with professions, some people say too much but if you love to craft and gather and all that wonderful stuff professions should keep you very busy at max level if that's something you’re interested in.
Now something that everyone should get done even if you aren’t going to dive into professions for yourself is to activate the engine of innovation this is over to the east of Val Dragon you should get or have a quest over here that deals with turning this machine on and then passing a trial to obtain your first Spark of Ingenuity these Sparks are acquired in every and I mean every high-end crafting recipe so if you want to craft some amazing gear for yourself or if you want to get someone else to craft it for you these Sparks are going to be a necessity, they seem to be one per week right now so you’ll definitely want to get that engine started up as soon as possible if you are a crafter you can make use of the Sparks yourself but if you are not you can head on over to the crafting order clerks and fish around for something you might want made for you the spark and the Primal chaos are the only majorly restrictive requirements and you can get item level 382 gear Baseline so there are massive gear upgrades to be had at least once per week with the engine unlocked.
Then we also have World quests World quests area bit of a mixed bag they can reward you with progress towards many other endgame activities you can get gold or currencies you can get some good gear upgrades and you will always get reputation so that the perfect all-rounder in terms of content and character progress and almost all of them are completely solo able so if you’re not interested in the group activity stuff well quests can give you a lot of good rewards and a lot of character progress if you're looking for specific factions to earn rep with, you can also use the filter at the bottom left to select a specific faction and the map will then highlight all of the current world quests and quests that will give you wrap for your chosen faction which is a really neat little addition as for gear, these are also scaling rewards so they should provide a good source of gear options for at least a little while I would recommend you check all World quests to see if there’s anything that you might be interested in at least every couple days whether it’s going to be an extra bloody token World quest extra reputation or just a special piece of gear.
Then there are also quite a few different options for the pvpers, out there you can hop into Battlegrounds skirmishes or brawls for some honor grinding to get that gear going or you can toggle on war mode and take the fight to the dragon Isles themselves, there are War mode caches to look out for and collect there are special War mode only World quests which can be quite lucrative and they're sure to spark some good old world PVP scraps and skirmishes for you to take part in and then you can also collect bloody tokens for all of that slaughtering effort that you can turn in for 366 item level gear which is actually really good Gear with all the current restrictions in place that's almost up to Mythic dungeon item level and all you have to do is kill people in war mode it’s fantastic so there's plenty to do if you want to bash some skulls too.
There are even weekly PVP quests you can complete to earn a little bit of extra reputation and honor so if you want to do all of the things you should also get these PVP quests done and then if none of that sounds super exciting right now, you can also just start working on your next character with all of the class changes and talent changes playing different characters is a lot of fun in dragon flight and there are so many account white unlocks at max level that you don't really feel like you're losing time or you have to re-grind everything over and over again which is really satisfying logging onto a new alt getting over to the dragon Isles and starting with max level Dragon riding is really fun and it speeds up the overall leveling process quite significantly too so now is also a great time to just work on your old army if that's what you want to do now.
Before we wrap up this video I would also encourage you to keep an eye on the end game calendar and take advantage of any weekly events going on for example this week has the Dark Moon Fair the Dark moon Fair can provide you with a very shiny 10 experience and reputation against buff which will be perfect for finishing off any leveling Adventures leveling up any alts you might want to focus on or just start those renowned and reputation grinds and dragon flight so if you want extra rap or xp be sure to pop by the Dark Moon Fair whenever it's up and then an interesting update or change for the fare with dragon flight is that the profession quests available here are actually significantly more valuable now they give you two profession skill-ups in the profession title of the question complete which if you've gotten past skill 50 in your profession you know anything from 50 to 100 is going to be very hard long or expensive to do so two free skill points is actually huge and then they also give you Artisans metals well as three knowledge points so if you want to min max your profession gains especially that highly coveted knowledge be sure to check the profession quests of the Darkmoon fair and get them done every time it’s available as well as the weeks go by.
We’re gonna see things like time walking return the weekly dungeon events weekly PVP events World quest events a whole bunch of different options to help you progress with a wide variety of content and goals so keep an eye on that calendar and take full advantage of any weekly events coming up but that’s everything, I would suggest you look into at max level again most of this is definitely a case of what you want to do and how you want to do it most of it isn’t required at all if all you want to do is raid or push Mythic Plus or just PVP when all that stuff comes out later on it's fun extra stuff with some interesting gameplay options and rewards try it out if you like it great you found something else to do if you don’t move on to the next thing and you don’t have to worry about being behind or anything like that which is a great change of pace from how shadowlands fell and it's great change in my opinion.
But that’s all for this video what are you going to focus on first at max level are you going hard into the gear grind or maybe you're working on some of the optional stuff leave all your thoughts in the comment section below a big thankyou to all of our supporters over on patreon and all of our members here on YouTube you can see the names floating by on screen if you'd like to add your name to the end of every video with a special shout out at the start of the next video you can find links in the description over to patreon on or click the join button just below this video, if you want to see more videos like this make sure to subscribe and ring that notification Bell so you never miss another video, thanks for watching folks good luck and have fun and as always I’ll see you next time!
