Introduction
Hello guys and welcome to the 1 to 300 Mining Guide. I will tell you all you need to know to train your mining from one to 300. If you pick up mining as your leveling, you wouldn't really need the routes but in case you need to catch up on skill or you just got started with mining at a high level, then this will be very useful to you. I've put timestamps in the comments in case you quickly need to go back to a specific part of the video. I've put an incredible amount of time and effort into this video, so I would appreciate it if you guys could watch it all the way through and let me know what you think of it.
Mining Trainer Locations
To get started, you will need to go to a mining trainer. Here are the locations and coordinates that you can use to find a nearby mining trainer. Once you're there, you want to learn apprentice mining. At a certain skill, you will need to go back and train the next rank, but I'll tell you about that later.
How to use Mining
Once you're still there, you need to buy yourself a mining pick for only 85 copper. You need to have this item in your inventory all the time, because without it you will not be able to mine at all.
Now that you've learned mining and got yourself a pickaxe, go to your spell book and click the "find mineral" spell. When toggled on, you will be able to see small yellow dots in the mini map showing you nearby mineral veins. I would recommend dragging this spell in your action bar to easily enable it. Keep in mind that when you die, it will automatically turn off, so make sure to always re-enable it after you die, or just don't die.
Enchants and Item Bonuses
There are two enchants and one piece of gear that you can use to gain a little bit more mining skill on top of your current skill, which allows you to mine an ore just a little earlier. The two enchants are enchant gloves mining which increases it by two, and enchant gloves advanced mining, which increases it by five. The piece of gear is from goblin engineering. It's a goblin mining helmet which increases your skill by five when equipped.
Mining Routes
Now for what you're probably here for, the one to 300 mining routes. Just to clarify, the green number in the middle shows the minimum skill you need to buy the next rank. The orange on the left is the minimum skill of your current rank, and the gray on the right is the maximum of your current rank, at which point you're no longer able to gain skill unless you buy the next rank of mining from a trainer. Keep in mind that ore veins spawn at the sides of mountains and hills and inside of caves and quarries.
Alliance 1-65 Mining Route
You currently have apprentice mining which is from one to 75. For alliance, you will be mining from one to 65 in Dun Morogh. There's a mining trainer east of Kharanos and at the [inaudible 00:02:15] quarry. Both of these locations are very close to the mining routes. Here you will be mining copper ore which is able to give you skill points from one all the way up to 100. At skill level of 65, you should pick up the next rank of mining which is journeyman mining.
Horde 1-65 Mining Route
For Horde, you will be mining from one to 65 in Mulgore. There is a mining trainer in the central part of Thunder Bluff. Here you will be mining copper ore, which is able to give you skill points from one all the way up to 100. At skill level 65, you should pick up the next rank of mining which is journeyman mining.
Alliance 65-125 Mining Route
As Alliance, after having learned journeyman mining at 65, you'll be going to Westfall where you'll be mining from 65 to 125. Closest mining trainer is in Stormwind City. Here you will be mining copper ore up to 100 and also tin ore, which gives you skill from 65 to 165. There's a chance that a silver vein spawns instead of tin. Silver ore can be mined at 75 and gives skill up to 175. At skill level 125, you should pick up the next rank of mining, which is expert mining.
Horde 65-125 Mining Route
As Horde, after having learned journeyman mining at 65, you will be going to the barrens where you will be mining from 65 to 125. The closest mining trainer is in Durotar. As with Westfall, here you will also be mining copper ore up to 100 and also tin ore which gives you skill from 65 to 165. There's a chance that a silver vein spawns instead of tin. Silver ore can be mined at 75 and give skill up to 175. At skill level 125, you should pick up the next rank of mining which is expert mining.
125-175 Mining Route
Now both factions will be mining in the same zones. You currently have expert mining which is from 125 to 225. There are no nearby mining trainers. It's time to go to Arathi Highlands where you'll be mining many types of ores. In addition to the tin and silver, you will now also find iron ore, which gives skill from 125 to 225. There's a chance that a gold vein spawns instead of iron. Gold ore can be mined at 155 and gives skill up to 225.
In the cave on the east of Hammerfall, you will be able to mine lesser bloodstone ore, which is from 75 to 175. This ore is required for a quest, so you can sell it on the auction house. Here you will also be able to find mithril ore as well as in some other places in the south. Mithril ore can be mined at 175 and gives skill up to 275. There's a chance that a truesilver deposit spawns instead of mithril. Truesilver ore can be mined at 230 and give skill up to 300.
In Arathi Highlands, you will mainly be mining tin up to 165 together with silver, lesser bloodstone, iron and gold up to 175. By the time that you're able to mine mithril and truesilver, you will already be in the next zone. At skill level 200, you can pick up the next rank of mining, which is artisan mining. Since you'll be here until 175, you will only need to train artisan mining once you're mining in the next zone.
175-250 Mining Route
You currently have expert mining, which is from 125 to 225 and your current mining skill is at least 175.
Now you will want to go to the Hinterlands, where you'll be mining iron, gold, mithril and truesilver. At 225 you will no longer be able to gain skill points from iron ore which is also the maximum that you can get to with expert mining. At this point you'll want to stop mining and instead fly to your nearest city and buy artisan mining. For Horde, the Wind Rider is located at the very bottom right of the map at Revantusk Village. The nearest city with a mining trainer is Undercity. For Alliance, the flight master is located in Aerie Peak at the west side of the map. You will want to go to Ironforge.
250-300 Mining Route
Now that you're 250, it's time for Un'goro Crater, which is the last one you will need to go to. Here you will be mining from 250 to 300. As before, you will be mining mithril and truesilver as well as thorium ore which can be mined starting at 250. Mithril no longer gives skill points after 275, so at that point you will only be mining truesilver and thorium up to 300. A lot of ore can spawn in the center as well as in the southern cave, but it's also more dangerous.
Conclusion
Congratulations, you've now maxed out mining at 300 of 300. At this point you might want to go back to the trainer to learn how to smelt truesilver, thorium and dark iron.
